If you have purchased a puppy or dog from a CMDA-approved breeder, you should consider registering that animal. Even if you do not plan to breed your dog, a registration certificate links your dog back to its lineage, which helps the CMDA track bloodlines. In addition, it potentially increases the value of your dog, should you ever need to re-sale that animal.
In order to register a puppy with the CMDA:
If you do not have this information, you must contact the breeder/seller in order to get it. If you are unable to do so, or the seller refuses, OR if your dog only had one registered parent, you can use the "Foundation Dog Registration Application."
If you do have the required litter registration information, you can use the form below to apply for your generational type registration certificate. Your request will be processed after we have received payment of the registration fee, which can be submitted through the link below.
Once your application has been processed, you will receive a CMDA Registry Certificate, listing the generational registration type and "Non-Breeding Animal" classification (unless “Purebred” status has been attained) and a CMDA registration number. This certificate is proof your puppy or dog is a Colorado Mountain Dog!
