In order to register any puppies as Colorado Mountain Dogs, the breeder must first register the birth of the litter. This helps prevent fraudulent registrations of puppies from unapproved breeding dogs, or unregistered dogs. In order to register a new litter of pups, BOTH parents must be registered, and have a "Foundation Breeder," "Breeder," or "Purebred" status with the CMDA. Upon acceptance of the application by the CMDA, you will be issued a "Litter Registration" Certificate with unique Litter Registration number. In addition, each puppy will receive a temporary name assigned by the registrar. A copy of this certificate and one of the identifying names should be given to every registerable puppy buyer, as the information will be needed when they apply to register their puppy.
In order to register a litter, submit the Litter Registration Form and the Litter Registration Fee. If you need to register multiple litters, you must submit each Litter Registration Form seperately.
